After building initial rapport in the field, deep insight can be obtained. To do so, a semi-structured individual interview method was established, named the Opportunity Detection Kit (ODK). The ODK consists of guidelines, techniques and tools, which can be deployed to conduct the interview.

Select a variety of participants and decide on the interview time and place. Assign roles for each interview and engage in deep dialogue by using the ODK techniques and tools. Analyse, interpret and reflect within the team after each day in the field. Share interpretations with the participants and local partners.
